Gingham’s Homestyle Restaurant

Hello all foodies! I have not been out and about to be able to try anywhere new to tell you about, but I did want to give the spotlight to one of my favorite late night spots! Gingham’s Homestyle Restaurant in Saint Charles, Missouri is one of my favorite places to fill any late night cravings that I might have! Over the weekend, after a late night out I worked up an appetite while I was with my friend Megan, and we decided that it was a Ginghams kind of night! Since we were out and about in the area it was the perfect excuse to pay a visit! Ginghams is a very homey feeling restaurant. They have the best service and you can tell they really care about you and the service they offer you! This little restaurant is open 24/7! It was about 2:00AM when we strolled in and believe it or not, it was very busy! We did not have to wait too long to get our booth! There were all kinds of people there from families to elderly people to young adults getting a late night bite!
As Megan and I sat down at our booth we were instantly greeted by our waitress, who’s name escapes me right now but she was the nicest lady I think I have ever met! Yes, I am clearly exaggerating, but the point is she was so friendly and took care of everything we needed as soon as we asked! We got waters to start with while we looked over the menu. They had everything from breakfast foods to soups and salads to burgers and sandwiches. I was very temped to just get a dessert, a cheesecake or an apple crisp, but ended up getting the chicken strip meal. Now, for those of you who are thinking, “How typical of a girl to get chicken strips,” let me be the first to say that Ginghams chicken strips are magical! I try to stay away from basic meals, but when I go to Ginghams I HAVE to get their chicken strips! They were perfectly breaded and so crispy! A perfect golden color that you only see on TV commercials because they make the food look so unrealistically good! For my two sides, I got french fries (obviously who eat chicken strips with out fries), and since I had not had it from Ginghams before I also got mac and cheese! Guys, this mac and cheese was so cheesy and gooey. It was, in that exact moment, the best mac and cheese I think I have ever had. The fries were a nice golden color and super crispy as well. You could hear the crunch of the fry as you bit into it! To top it all off we had some yummy super soft and fluffy dinner rolls with honey butter that melted in your mouth! It was over all the perfect late night meal. The kind that makes you ready to snuggle up in bed and pass out because your belly is full and you just feel like your life is complete. Since we already had a late night Megan and I decided to split this meal, but I wish y’all could have seen this goofy girl doing a little dance as she was eating because it was so good!  She said and I quote, “If I had to marry and food it would be these chicken strips!” If you have not been to this cute little Saint Charles restaurant I 10 out of 10 recommend going as soon as possible! Hopefully I can get out and about these next few weeks to find some brand new places to let you guys know about! If you have any recommendations for any diner or dive bar around the Saint Louis area, please let me know! You’ll hear from me soon!
